The 7 base chakras energize our consciousness and physical body alike. The meditations are designed to help a quiet mind to feed chakra opening. Just like exercising the body, stimulating chakras yields physical and mental results.

Techniques Used
  • Tones pitched at pitch frequencies for each chakra
  • Binaural beating at rates that stimulate a trance

About the Album

This album is about the ancient Toltec belief in inorganic beings, called Flyers, that exist side by side humanity on this planet. Some inorganic beings are benevolent, but the Flyers are predators. They feed off of the luminous energy of our spiritual bodies. This renders human beings energetically deprived. Being food for other beings, we, as a result, do not live up to the true potential that we have. Through embarking on a journey toward spiritual freedom, we can make our energy stronger and less palatable to the Flyers.

About the Album

This album was written using the Csound computer music programming language. Rendering coded script into digital audio is like creating aural magic purely from numbers. The music is meditative and explorative.

What is Csound?

Csound is a programming language in which audio and MIDI information can be created from scratch. The possibilities in synthesis and sampling are endless. The programming language is open source and free. To check it out, just stop by Csounds.com.

About the Album

What is the purpose behind our lives? Is there a script writer, or do we have absolute freedom? Is destiny exists, is there a purpose to it, or is it merely a "Tale Told by an Idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing," as William Shakespeare suggests?

The song, "Jester in a Poppyfield" was inspired by this painting by Jeremy Hauser. Check the artwork page for more info.

Dreams Become Fibers

Corey

French Hornst,
Corey Klein

Have you ever had an intense dream that was so vivid that it felts like real life? Perhaps time passed in the dream like you were actually living there for a while, and all the imagery, smells, tastes, and feelings were so real that it was almost like another life that you were leading in a parallel world. Yet after waking, the whole experience seems to disintegrate from your memory, leaving you with the knowledge that you just lived something powerful, but the memories and experience has melted away to only just brief glimpses of what just was only moments before. This piece takes place on a hillside with a sun in a dark sky that is filled with stars and galaxies. The atmosphere and the wind hang on the sky like a tapestry. While here, you enter into a meditation that reveals the fibers that make up all consciousness and you see how the complex inter-workings of these fibers make up reality. After the meditation reaches the heights of its state, you slowly return to the solidity of the perceived world, and the energy once held between the fibers of our reality dissipates like a dream.

I began the piece with the video, creating the landscape elements using Apophysis 7x. I then recorded horn samples from Corey and created a sonic landscape from those recordings, morphing them with Spear. I then wrote and recorded an extended horn melody on top of this soundscape, and cut it up for further processing in Spear. Ater these layers were added to the soundscape, I wrote a more abridged horn melody that is the final melody that is performed live by Corey. This part is sent in realtime to various delay effects. I did this multi tracking in Cakewalk Sonar. Ater completing a recording of the piece, i performed some filtering and layering of the video elements in Sony Vegas.

Bouquet in the Abyss

A beautiful bouquet finds itself within the lonely, haunting darkness of the abyss.  It is a living organism that is growing, changing shape, and realigning its configuration in the hope of sustaining itself within the emptiness.  Yet, beauty lies within the eye of the beholder, and with no beholder, its mutations border on the ugliness of desperation, hopelessness, and passionate frustration.

The sole material used in the audio is a piano recording that was mutated and distorted using Spear.  These mutated source recordings were mixed and processed using Sonar.  The video consists of animated fractal imagery created using Apophysis.  These animations were then filtered, enhanced, and layered using Sony Vegas.

Spectral Voices in the Light

Broadcast waves are frequencies within the electro-magnetic spectrum. They are bands of light. Within this light, it has been known that spirits and disembodied beings can communicate. While the messages are faint and enigmatic, the search for them yields intriguing moments of artistically driven feeling and emotion.

The audio material is composed of various searches through the short wave bands of radio waves. These recordings were time and pitch altered using Csound. The resulting audio was further crafted using Spear. All of the orchestration of this material and its spatial panning were done in Sonar. The video was created using processing to generate semi-random distributions of patterns to resemble white noise. Processing was also used to distribute the spirit faces around within the white noise. The final production stage was filtering and video production work performed in Sony Vegas.

Fountain Talk

The fountain is a metaphor for the communication that comes through life itself. Spewing forth, in a relentless stream comes the mysterious and dark realities that we so desire not to face. The video was created using Ultra Fractal to generate the fractal imagery and Sony Vegas to filter and process the fractal videos. The audio was generated through granular synthesis utilizing Csound. The generated audio tracks were mixed and processed in Sonar.

Angel Wing

The disembodied beings that surround us have strange and wonderful powers that baffle our imaginations. They can be playful and loving, or destructive and cruel. Either way, they live here among us.

I created the video in Processing, where I made a semi-fractal image from small graphic elements. This video was then taken into Vegas, where I applied effects and 3d motion. For the music, I recorded tapping and striking sounds on metal speaker stands and performed Fast Fourier Transfers effects ont hem in Spear. I then mixed and applied delay and equalization in Sonar.

Establishment

This piece is based on the first 8 hexagrams of the I Ching. The meaning behind these hexagrams seems to outline a story of creation and ultimate establishment of this creation. They outline the birth, nurturing, struggles, conflict, and ultimate accomplishment of the creation.

I wrote this piece in Csound and sequenced the surround panning and EWI part in Sonar. I made the fractal that is the base for the video in Processing and then did the video production work and effects in Sony Vegas.

This piece is intended for live EWI performance and fixed audio/video playback. It is intended for surround, b ut can also be performed in stereo. Please contact me at me@lawrencewmoore.com if you would like information and materials for the performance of this work.

Beautiful Synchronicities

Beautiful Synchronicities explores consciousness at all levels. It is based ont he metaphysical principle that their is a conscious source to all thought. Our thoughts germination from a central source of experience and become more complex through our life experiences. The act of understanding our thoughts, where they come from, and how we can decipher their meaning is a crucial part of the life journey.

The fixed audio was developed in Csound and spread out through a surround field in Sonar. The base fractal video for each movement was developed in Processing. The final video production and effects were done in Sony Vegas.

The voice part is intended to be performed live with real time processing and fixed audio/video playback. There is a score and fixed media in stereo and 5.1 format for performance purposes. If you are interested in performing this piece, please contact me at me@lawrencewmoore.com.

I

This movement outlines the metaphysical principles behind the concepts of archetypes eminating from the source of consciousness and out they are reiterated into nesting and overlapping layers to form complex thought patterns.

II

This movement explores the love behind thought and conscious life. In this movement, the vocalist expresses the nature of timeless beauty with text less vocalizations.

Sna;Drive

The snap represents the properties of an instant. It is a fragment of time that is barely measurable. When set in a steady flow, snaps can form rhythmic patterns, and even solid forms that create gestures and blocks of their own moving energy. This piece is based on snaps and their kinetic need to drive.

I composed this piece using a Csound instrument that I developed and then sequenced in Sonar. The video was produced in Final Cut by Liza Seigido.

Sanctuary

This is the title track for the Sanctuary album. The album honors the creative imagination of the individual. Part of our purpose here in this world is to dream, imagine, and create. We create from our experiences and share our unique visions with the universe.

The video was made by animating the shroud imageusing Adobe Flash. These animations where then filtered and processed using Sony Vegas.
